Outdoors

On Sunday, we gathered for a picnic to welcome Turkish students from various departments. Amidst smoked sausages and other refreshments we played a football around the open park and got around to knowing each other.

It was a nice welcome into the new semester.

Random Travel Photos

Hovering all around Europe for the last twenty-four hours, I’ve finally made a complete stop at a familiar place. This time it’s looking a lot more like a place I’ve been away from for a long while. There is some lethargy, no doubt, perhaps conditioned by stress, or by fatigue of flying in the aisle seat for that length of time, or the thought of my luggage in the hand of a random stranger.

Well, here I am now, no longer such a stranger. What does the city hold for the poor traveler?

Faculty of Arts

I took these random shots at the Faculty of Arts, in my former University in Ibadan, a few days ago. I also discovered that the very first female Head of the Department of Religious Studies since 1948 when the Univeristy was founded, has just been appointed, effective August 1st. It’s a positive news, tinted with the disillusionment that this should have been commonplace since very many years ago. I took these pictures from the balcony of the Department.

UNDP

I also submitted some photos for the UNDP photo contest last month, three photos each for a category. The theme was “We can end poverty.” Here and here are some of my photo entries. The result will be announced sometimes next month.

On the Third Mainland Bridge

Pictures from a thirty minutes walking time around the continent’s longest overhead bridge.
