I've been told that the power situation in the country is improving now that the president is not around. Maybe it is a sign that the office is not so indispensable after all. Or if not the office, the people occupying it. We have too big a government, and too much is wasted on governance and too little on infrastructural development.
Maybe if we deemphasize the dependence on government, we'll move forward. Just saying.

I hope you're right.
I'm waiting to hear how the country kicks off this new decade without any constitutional head. I'm dying to know, bros. Please give details.

I read online yesterday that the president, contrary to news, did not really sign that budget. Does anyone have any idea how true this is, and what it means for the new fiscal year, and for probity?

Dele Giwa was qouted as writing "Nigeria is a country where nothing good happens but nothing really bad ever happens.
"No shaking", that qoute is still true. The current CJ will swear in his successor, life will continue as we know it, have no fear..

Well, methinks a Ghanaian or even Togolese passport is more attractive now than a Nigerian passport, lol. The strength of a nation is not the absence of challenges but the ability to respond to them decisively. The greatest problem right now is not the jackass who just dragged the name of the country in the mud. It's the absence of decisive response from the FG. I have been waiting - and if you've seen, pray tell me- for a statement, any statement from the FG, Minister of Information on this matter. I've been waiting for the national PR machine to swing into action, do some meaningful damage control. Nothing. Now, that is the shame!

Wow, this is a deeply reflective post appropriate on the eve of entering our 50th year post-independence...one Nigeria.
